Video recorded near a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis shows a crowd confronting a group of men they believed to be Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, sparking a tense scene amid ongoing protests in the city.
Footage from the encounter shows protesters approaching the men as they walked toward a vehicle, blowing whistles and moving in close proximity. At one point, a protester knocks a plastic cup from one of the men’s hands and another removes or throws a hat before the group gets into a vehicle and departs.
According to social media posts and clips shared online, the men told the crowd they were not ICE agents, though some bystanders continued to confront them. In additional footage, a man in the back of the vehicle appears to be sitting next to what looks like handcuffs, adding to the confusion and heightened emotions surrounding the interaction.
The incident occurred as protests in Minneapolis have intensified following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti and other confrontations between federal agents and demonstrators in recent weeks. In several reported clashes, protesters have sought to challenge or resist the actions of immigration enforcement officers and other federal personnel.
Officials have not confirmed whether anyone was arrested or injured in this particular incident. Demonstrations around federal immigration enforcement efforts in Minneapolis continue to evolve, with footage and eyewitness accounts often shared widely on social media.
