Anaheim ICE Arrest Turns Chaotic as Suspect Repeatedly Resists Detention

Video from Anaheim, California shows immigration officers forcibly detaining a man identified as Ruben after he repeatedly resisted arrest during an ICE operation.

Footage shows Ruben repeatedly dropping to the ground and refusing to stand, forcing agents to physically maneuver him as they attempted to place him into custody. Officers can be heard issuing commands while maintaining control of the scene.

As the arrest unfolded, a woman identified as Lupe could be heard loudly shouting at officers, repeatedly claiming that Ruben “wants to get up,” despite video showing him continuing to fall or go limp.

Law enforcement officials have long warned that passive resistance tactics—such as intentionally collapsing or refusing to walk—can escalate encounters and increase the likelihood of force being used.

Authorities emphasized that cooperation reduces risk for everyone involved and that interference from bystanders can complicate already volatile situations.
