It all started on a seemingly innocent evening, where a dinner with vrienden was planned to honor long-lasting friendships and shared life experiences. Among the guests was Bethany, the best friend and former bridesmaid from my wife Meg, a woman who had been a dear friend and confidant until then. What was supposed to be an evening of friendship and bonding would quickly turn into a revelation of hidden intentions and betrayal.
As everyone left the restaurant, I realized I had left my phone behind.
Returning to collect it, I unwittingly became a witness to one conversation between Bethany and another friend.
To my dismay, Bethany spoke of Meg with disdain.

The ultimate confrontation took place during what seemed like a romantic dinner.
While Bethany arrived bathed in confidence, expecting this evening to mark a new phase in our ‘relationship’, the tide turned.
I confronted her with her own words, repeated in the exactness of the pain they caused.
The revelation of her true intentions and the revelation of her underhanded behavior resulted in a mix of anger and humiliation on her face, proof that she never expected her mask to fall off.
