We are writing to share with sadness that our sweetest girl Shirley is available for adoption once again. This girl has certainly had more than her share of heartbreak in life and now one more has been added. It seems her and loving and dedicated adoptive mama has let us know that she has been diagnosed with a very complicated illness, and is going to be unable to continue to care for Shirley. We are looking for a foster home for her or preferably an adoptive home. As some of you may remember 2-3 year old Shirley’s details are that she is dog friendly, cat friendly as long as the cats don’t run away then she’ll chase. She is kid friendly and we recommend children over 5 for pretty much all of our dogs. She is also good in a crate and good in the car. She loves walks and outings. After several weeks in her foster home, she was beginning to warm up to her foster dad, but any men in her life would need to understand and be patient with the fact that she will take longer to warm up to them, and they should be prepared to offer lots of patience. Shirley does seem to experience some skin itching which is new but in her Texas history. So, she is on a more allergen safe diet at this time as well as some allergy meds that help her feel less itchy. Please share the heck out this post to help our lovely girl during these really dark times for dogs and rescues.
