Port Aransas issues mandatory visitor evacuation in preparation for Tropical Storm Beryl

SAN ANTONIO – Visitors to Port Aransas may have their vacations cut short by Hurricane Beryl.

As the former hurricane, now Tropical Storm that has already wreaked havoc in the Caribbean and Mexico gets closer to the Texas coast, Port Aransas is ordering all visitors to the city to evacuate by noon on Sunday, July 7.

Tropical Storm Beryl, which ripped through Jamacia and Mexico as a hurricane, is expected to make landfall on the Texas coast as a category 1 hurricane on Sunday.

Authorities in Port Aransas are also encouraging those who live by the coast, in low-lying areas, or those who require special assistance, to leave on Saturday if possible, along with all short-term RV visitors.
Guests with upcoming trips, who are scheduled to arrive on July 7th or 8th, are advised to postpone their arrival until the storm passes.
